Chad serves as the Senior Director for the Children’s Health Andrews Institute with Children’s Health System in Plano, TX. Chad has overseen the development and start-up of a new orthopedic service line and associated facilities on the Children’s Health Plano campus. Chad’s role includes daily operational oversight and strategic development.
Prior to this role he served as Executive Director of the Andrews Research & Education Foundation in Gulf Breeze, FL. Chad also served as the Chief Operating Officer at the Andrews Institute and Andrews Research and Education Institute in Gulf Breeze, Florida from inception through 2015. Chad has served various roles within the health care industry with specific experience in the fields Sports Medicine and Orthopedics, both as a clinician (Certified Athletic Trainer) and management. Chad’s leadership roles span from community outreach, development and strategic planning of service line initiatives to providing leadership for the day to day operations over the Andrews Institute.
Chad graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a BS in Exercise Science and upon completing his certification through the NATABOC, became a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) working at several high schools, colleges and professional sports teams in Birmingham, AL and Pensacola, FL. Chad worked for Healthsouth Corp. under Dr. Jim Andrews from 1991- 1997, with four of those years as an ATC. During this tenure he served as Head Athletic Trainer at Pelham HS, Montevallo HS and the Birmingham Bulls hockey team of the East Coast Hockey League.
In 1997, Chad and his family moved to Pensacola, FL where he began his career with Baptist Health Care developing a sports medicine outreach program serving the high school and community athletes of Northwest Florida and South Alabama. The program within Baptist Health Care has grown to provide services for over 20 high schools and employs 25+ ATC’s. In 2003, Chad led the development of the Baptist Home Health Care’s durable medical equipment service line.
In 2004, the Andrews Institute project was envisioned. Chad served in a leadership role for development of the project through its construction, development and now operational phases serving as Chief Operating Officer. The Andrews Institute includes outpatient operations within a 126,000-sf campus including Ambulatory Surgery, Outpatient Rehabilitation, advanced imaging, multiple physician musculoskeletal subspecialties, Athletic Performance and Research and Education efforts. The Andrews Institute currently employs over 250 team members providing care in an outpatient setting for the treatment of musculoskeletal and sports medicine injuries to patients from around the world. Chad’s role at the Institute also involves facilitating strategic partnerships, physician relations and participation in national initiatives related to sports injuries and prevention.
The Andrews Institute has grown into national prominence attracting some of the best surgeons and providers in sports medicine and providing elite healthcare services. Under his leadership, the Institute also has developed groundbreaking efforts in regenerative medicine, surgical innovations, and related sports medicine treatments.
In 2009, Chad was voted the Sportsman of the Year by the Pensacola Sports Association for his work in the area of providing care and prevention of sports injuries to the youth of Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties. Chad is widely recognized as having a passion for preventing injuries in youth and fostering the latest advances in medical science to treat sports related injuries. He also served on the Northwest Florida Fellowship of Christian Athletes Board of Directors.
Chad and his family moved to Prosper in January of 2016.
He was appointed to The PEDC Board in September of 2021.
