Samurai Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu: Building Strength, Confidence, and Community in Prosper

Prosper is now home to Samurai Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, the new martial arts studio owned and operated by Andreh Anderson. Though the studio has been open just a month, it’s already shaping up to be a strong addition to the community.
Who They Are
Andreh Anderson leads the school as head instructor. He began training in martial arts back in 1989—first with Muay Thai, then adding Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Sambo. In 2007, Andreh earned his black belt under former champion Rey Diogo of the Carlson Gracie Team; today he holds a 4th degree black belt. Over more than thirty years, his experience includes competition at all belt levels (gi and no-gi), involvement in early MMA, and periods of training in Brazil. He now lives in Prosper with his wife Fernanda and their two children, Lucas and Sofia.
What They Offer
Samurai Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is more than just grappling. Their curriculum includes:
They challenge students to grow physically and mentally, not just master techniques. The package options are designed to serve a variety of needs, from newcomers who want to build basic skills to serious practitioners seeking personalized coaching and intensive training.
Why Prosper is Their Place
Andreh chose Prosper because it’s his home and he loves this town. What makes Prosper special to him is the warmth of its people and the strong sense of community. He feels deeply that folks in Prosper are friendly, supportive, and take pride in being connected. It’s this environment where encouragement, character building, and mutual support matter—that aligns with what Samurai Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu aims to build.
“What I love most about having my business here is that people truly value community,” Andreh says. “They welcome one another. This kind of atmosphere makes it possible to help young people grow—not only in strength or skill, but in confidence, resilience, and character.”
More Than Just Martial Arts
Beyond teaching fighting or self-defense, Samurai Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu has a mission: helping students, especially kids, prepare for life's challenges. Through disciplined physical training, structured coaching, and mental skill-building, the studio aims to instill qualities like perseverance, self-control, respect, and resilience that carry far beyond the mat.
