The Prosper Economic Development Corporation (PEDC) has received numerous calls from Prosper residents inquiring, “What is the building behind the 7-Eleven pumps on Frontier and Preston?” Our reply? “That’s the new 7-Eleven Evolution Store! Ain’t it cool?!” The PEDC staff has enjoyed sharing the news of this addition to our community.
Prosper continues to top the lists of best places to live and raise a family. Its schools rank in the top 2 percent of the U. S. school districts and the Town is recognized as one which is focused on quality development, state of the art pediatric health care, top notch First Responders and well operated Town services. Added to these attributes, Prosper has a large population of citizens under 35 years of age, a sweet spot for the 7-Eleven’s Evolution Store target customers. All these elements directed 7-Eleven to select Prosper for its newest, 7-Eleven Evolution Store.
When 7-Eleven was looking for a new location for its newest Evolution Store, the premier name convenience retailer had specific criteria; potential for future and continued growth, pro-business environment, residents who are young in age and spirit and a great place to live, learn and work. Prosper checked all the boxes. Prosper offers a small town feel in a big city marketplace. No wonder it is one of the fastest growing small cities in the state/country, and a perfect place for 7-Eleven’s seventh Evolution Store nationwide!
.
7-Eleven Evolution stores are an experiential testing ground – music to economic developers in search of sustainable retail opportunities. Customers can sample and purchase 7-Eleven’s latest innovations in a revolutionary store format. Including an oversized patio and Laredo Taco Company restaurant, 7-Eleven can be an after-school gathering place for students, a breakfast stop for young professionals, an afternoon pick-me-up for a soccer mom, a morning meeting place for retirees and a pit stop for laborers. Concepts that resonate with Prosper customers will be incorporated into new and existing 7-Eleven stores nationwide.
Not only has 7-Eleven chosen Prosper for a business location, they have also contributed to being an involved community partner. During the 7-Eleven Evolution Store Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting, the company presented a donation of $20, 000 to the PEDC. The generous donation is to sponsor the “Kids and Pets” safety program. The donation will be used to create, construct, install and maintain awareness signs in shopping centers throughout Prosper, reminding people not to leave children or pets in unattended vehicles. Prosper High School Art Students were invited to design the sign art. The winner, Giovanni Spampinato received a $1000 scholarship, the 2nd and 3rd place winners, Mark Chrissan and John “Riley” Miller a gift of $100 each. In addition, the Prosper High School CTE Graphic Design program received $500 for supplies. All businesses are strongly encouraged to post a sign. Contact Kent Bauer, Town of Prosper Emergency Management Coordinator, (972) 569-1417 to obtain one. There are plans to expand the awareness program throughout the region. For more information, contact the Prosper Economic Development Corporation, (972) 569-1171. We are a community which values and protects our kids and pets. We are grateful for 7-Eleven’s support of this important program.
It is always a special treat to welcome innovation to a community. Prosper is fortunate to have been selected by 7-Eleven to showcase the corporation’s newest, cutting edge shopping experience. Visit the 7-Eleven Evolution Store, purchase a Slurpee and thank staff and management for their contributions to our Town!
