To assess Prosper’s broadband capacity, reliability, and needs more effectively, the Prosper Economic Development Corporation, in partnership with the Town of Prosper, applied for a grant from the Economic Development Administration.
Recognizing the exponential growth in our region and striving to be good neighbors, the Town and PEDC invited Gunter, Van Alstyne, Melissa, and Anna to participate. The EDA awarded a grant for the study, an RFP was developed, and Lit Communities was selected as the most experienced and efficient consultant.
Lit Communities' task was to analyze the current conditions of broadband infrastructure and services in each community, examine current and future broadband uses and needs, and identify strategies to improve broadband service. The assessment provides the communities with the necessary information to analyze, select, and implement the best solutions for improving broadband within their areas.
Lit Communities has completed its study through a series of community engagement exercises, surveys, data collection, and experienced application processes and will now present its findings.
